Surgical Techniques for Penile Curvature

The surgical techniques used to correct penile curvature can be categorized into two main types:

Shortening the Long Side of the Penis;
Lengthening the Short Side of the Penis.

Techniques that Shorten the Long Side of the Penis:

Nesbit Technique: removal of one or more ellipses and closing the edges, shortening the long side to match the short one.
Modified Kelami-Nesbit Technique: a modification of the Nesbit technique, which uses an instrument to define the location and size of the ellipse to be removed.
Yachia's Modified Corporoplasty: a single vertical incision with horizontal closure, which shortens the long side to match the short one.
Lue "16 Points" Technique: performing multiple parallel plications.
Essed-Schroeder Plication Technique: application of four plications opposite the point of maximum curvature, with symmetry in dorsal curvatures and asymmetry in additional lateral curvatures.
Egydio STAGE Technique: Use of geometric principles to precisely determine the location of superficial ellipses. Added precision to everything that has been done since 1965 with Nesbit.

Techniques that Lengthen the Short Side of the Penis:

Devine-Horton Dermal Graft Procedure: excision of fibrosis and replacement of tissue with a graft to cover the defect.
Sampaio's Parallel I-shaped Incision: tissue expansion from a sliding incision (instead of tissue replacement), producing a defect.
Single I-shaped Incision by Sampaio: single incision to produce tissue expansion by sliding, instead of multiple.
Gelbard's Relaxation Incisions: multiple incisions aimed at expanding tissue to implant a larger penile prosthesis without grafts and incision models treat narrowing and curvatures with tissue expansion.
Lue's H-shaped Technique: an H-shaped incision model that expands the tissue.
