Post-placement care needed to avoid problems

The placement of the penile prosthesis requires surgery and, at most, one day of hospitalization. After that, the patient must perform post-operative care to avoid complications, ensure a pain-free recovery, prevent coarse scars, and facilitate the adaptation period to the implant.

In the first days, the patient should visit Dr. Paulo in person and take care of the dressing as instructed. From the fifth day, if there are no complications, it is possible to travel back to their hometown.

Up to the 10th day, the patient should avoid exerting too much effort, but it is possible to move around the house. After that, they can return to work, provided the activity is not vigorous.
