The size of the penis, as well as its functional capacity and good performance in the nick of time, is a very sensitive subject for men.
In the previous blog that you can access by clicking here, we talked about how to enlarge the penis through existing penile reconstruction techniques.
In this blog, we will continue the subject, addressing the existing procedures to improve the appearance of the pubic region and the methods that promise to “enlarge” the penis.
What are the techniques to improve penile enlargement?
There are some surgical procedures that can aesthetically improve the penis. However, they do not change penile functionality. This means that if the patient has any dysfunction, aesthetic techniques do not solve the problem, namely:
Scrotum repositioning:
When the scrotum is too high in relation to the penis, it gives the appearance of a smaller penis. Repositioning consists of placing the scrotum a little lower, this way the penis can assume a more robust appearance.
Pubic liposuction:
It is the removal of fat in the pubic region that allows the exteriorization of the penis;
Phimosis Removal:
Some men are born with excess skin on the penis that covers the glans, called Phimosis. This “extra” skin can be removed through a simple surgical procedure, which allows the glans to always be exposed.
Contraindicated penile enlargement methods
There are methods that promise penis enlargement but that can put the patient’s sexual health at risk and cause serious problems. Below you will find some of these common methods.
Penile Pump:
The penile pump is a vacuum device that distends the cavernous bodies of the penis, but there is no evidence or scientific studies that validate its functionality in penile enlargement;
Penis Extender:
Penis extender is a device attached to the base and glans of the penis, used as a “device” to stretch it. There are no studies that validate it as a penis extender;
Penoscrotal Ring:
Penoscrotal ring is a product that is said to be indicated for patients suffering from premature ejaculation. The ring is placed in the scrotum just below the base of the penis. It squeezes the scrotum and gives the sensation that the penis is bigger, in addition to delaying ejaculation. However, what nobody says about the use of this product is that it hinders the circulation and oxygenation of the penis;
Penile filling with the use of Botulinum Toxin:
It is a penile filling procedure with botulinum toxin, a toxin usually used to disguise facial expression signs. However, the penis only looks bigger when flaccid, the toxin does not change the penile appearance when there is an erection. Usually over time, the botulinum toxin affects the penis to the point that it needs to be removed. When this happens, a surgery is required that will remove not only the toxin, but all the dead tissue from the penis.
Cutting the suspensory ligament of the penis:
It is the ligament of the pubic symphysis, located at the base of the penis, which has the function of keeping the organ erect for penetration. This method stretches the pubic symphysis ligament, giving the appearance that the penis is larger when flaccid. However, when the penis is erect, it remains the same size it was before stretching the suspensory ligament.
When to do a penis enlargement?
It is not recommended to do a penis enlargement for the sole purpose of enlarging and thinkening it. The lack of erection can cause some deformities in the penis such as a decrease in size, thinning and curvature in the penis.
When the patient presents the problems mentioned above, it is the best time to indicate penile reconstruction surgery. This technique does not use grafts, as Dr. Paulo Egydio explained to the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, and manages to stretch and widen the body of the penis to the limit of the nerves and the urethra.

Aesthetic penile enlargement procedures can bring major complications to male sex life. Enlarging the penis can be directly linked to the need to solve a functional problem.
Before chooding any method, look for a urologist who will guide you at this time. Using procedures on your own can bring health risks.
Below, you will find a video where I talk about the existing procedures for penile enlargement, the risks of opting for aesthetic procedures and how Penile Reconstruction works.
